OUR FIRST 5K SPONSORSHIP AND FUNDRAISER!
On May 4th 2025, we sponsored our first 5K! It was the "I Love Cats 5K." As a cat mama, I have a deep love for my fur babies and their wellbeing. I wanted to be a part of a cause that mattered greatly to me. Not only did this business sponsor it, but I wanted to run my own fundraiser to help bring additional money to the cause. I didn't expect much success as I had just launched the business a few weeks earlier, but that didn't stop me from sewing 70 headbands anyways! I didn't sell much, but I wanted to make sure I had the inventory incase this took off. Our own elderly kitty was able to be a part of the cause as well. Unfortunately, during that time she had passed away. She was suffering from congestive heart failure for years. As I am writing this, it still pains me that she is gone. She played a vital role in my life and was there through many hardships, but many amazing milestones. From finally attending college, buying my first home, meeting my now husband and building a business that is deeply rooted to my life mission. Our little girl will always be our mascot. Depending on inventory, I think I will run this fundraiser again next year in her memory. To continue to help other kitties in need that need homes and to have a chance at a better, healthier life. Between what we paid for our sponsorship and what we raised in headband sales, we were able to contribute a total of $271.00 to the Feral Kitty Trappers TNR!
